The name 'Woy Woy' is said to come from the language of the Darkinjung Aboriginal people, meaning 'much water' or 'big lagoon' - a reference to the beautiful Brisbane Water estuary that forms the suburb’s heart.
This gorgeous suburb offers easy access to an array of attractions and nature walks that make living here truly special. Situated in the northern half of the Woy Won Peninsula, it’s located within a 1 hour and 15 minute drive of Sydney CBD, and just 90 minutes to Newcastle. Commuters can catch the train direct to the city, or hop on the Central Coast Ferry to connect to other towns on Brisbane Water.
